ZUM
Zum sells school districts a student transportation service that runs on its own tech platform, with AI routing, real-time bus tracking, electric buses and vehicle-to-grid charging.
Zum (Zum Services, Inc.) runs school bus services for US school districts under multi-year contracts, using its Zum CMX platform to handle routing, live operations and updates for parents. It also deploys electric buses with vehicle-to-grid charging. In 2026 it won contracts with the School District of Philadelphia, Shawnee Mission (Kansas) and others, and began rolling out 104 electric buses in San Francisco. As of August 2026 it operated in 19 states and served more than 6,500 schools. It raised a $140M Series E at a $1.3B valuation led by GIC, and in 2026 took a $100M investment from TPG's The Rise Fund that reportedly valued it at $1.7B.
