About XYZ Venture Capital

Overview

XYZ Venture Capital invests at seed and Series A in enterprise software, fintech and AI.

History and team

Ross Fubini founded XYZ Venture Capital in 2017, and PitchBook and Crunchbase both list him as founder. The firm announced its second fund, an $80 million Fund II, on December 15, 2020, and described its mission and team publicly for the first time then. That release said Fund I had backed early-stage companies worth more than $6 billion in aggregate. It also said the firm had made more than 40 investments and 22 companies tied to the Palantir network, including Anduril, Mosaic and Saltbox. Fubini had spent years as an advisor and executive coach to Palantir leaders. The 2020 team photo named Chauncey Hamilton, Christine Hubbard, JeanClaude Dorsainvil and Mariana Garza alongside Fubini. Parsers.vc lists Hamilton as a general partner. The size of Fund I and any fund after Fund II are not public in the sources I found. Which partners lead AI deals is also not public.

AI investing

The firm's 2020 focus was fintech infrastructure, enterprise collaboration and under-served sectors such as insurance and the public sector. Its recent AI rounds on the Lounge deals desk cover a wider range. Aslan Protects, a Washington, D.C. company founded in 2025, builds human-supervised autonomous AI operatives for cyber defense and intelligence. It raised a $20.8M seed co-led by Khosla Ventures and XYZ in September 2026. Agon, a London defense tech startup, finalized a $23M seed expansion in July 2026. That followed a $7M pre-seed tranche, for $30M in total. Lounge lists XYZ as a lead on both rounds.

Stages and check sizes

XYZ does not publish a standard check size. Tracxn counts 39 seed investments with an average round size of $5.55M and 28 Series A investments with an average round of $18.5M. Those figures are round sizes across all investors, not XYZ's own checks. Lounge's recent AI deals are one pre-seed ($1.7M) and four seed rounds ($10M to $23M).
