Cursor adds interactive canvases for cloud agents and a beta Environments API
Agents can now assemble dashboards or reports while they work, and a finished canvas can go to colleagues as a link instead of a code diff. The Environments API lets teams script the creation and upkeep of the cloud setups agents run in, including which repositories get cloned and the setup file that runs. Cursor's changelog caps environments at 300 repositories, but a same-day post from its X account gives 500, so the limit is unresolved. Cursor hosts these agents on sandboxed Ubuntu machines it operates, which clone repositories and install dependencies from a snapshot defined in .cursor/environment.json. Cursor 2.0, released in October 2025, added parallel agent runs, and earlier this month the company added remote control of local agents from its iOS app and opened an app marketplace with more than 20 integrations. For a team building an internal coding agent, environment definitions can now be created and versioned in code rather than configured by hand for each repository. Multi-repository tasks become easier to run at scale. Check the repository ceiling against current documentation before designing around it, since Cursor's two posts disagree.
