Pancake: The Vercel for GTM
Pancake's pitch is that coding agents such as Claude and Codex can plan a go-to-market motion but cannot run one. They lack data to find buyers, a channel to reach them, and memory of the business. Plays are built in the agent, then deployed on Pancake, where they keep running after the laptop is closed. The GTM Brain learns the buyer profile from the customer's website. The company is Basalt AI Inc., based in San Francisco. Co-founder Will Marquis said the beta went from zero to 200 paying customers before the new product was announced. The relaunch also changed pricing. A repository note says the flat price became "per workspace" pricing on October 6. Pancake's site now lists building a Play as free. An earlier product was an agent team that ran inside Slack. The idea is crowded. Most sales tools now ship an MCP server and AI-written email, and Pancake is betting that bundled data, sending infrastructure and memory behind one connection will matter more than another dashboard. For AI founders, the relevant question is whether GTM becomes an infrastructure layer that agents call, as hosting did for code. If so, the data and deliverability vendors underneath it become the contested ground, and sales apps with only a UI risk losing distribution.
