HackerRank's Chakra AI interviewer goes GA after 500,000 beta interviews on real code repositories
HackerRank is making Chakra, its AI interviewer, generally available on October 7 after roughly six months of beta in which it ran more than 500,000 interviews. Candidates work in a real repository with an in-canvas AI assistant while Chakra asks follow-up questions, scores judgment and AI fluency, and produces a hiring-manager report; HackerRank says it collapses three interview rounds into one and saw 70-80% fewer suspicious-activity flags than its traditional assessments. Early users include Snowflake, Snorkel and Capgemini. Hiring processes are starting to assume candidates code with AI, which changes what engineering teams should screen for.
