TSMC posts $46.7B third quarter, lifts 2026 growth outlook to about 44% on AI demand
TSMC reported third-quarter revenue of NT$1,494.24 billion, about US$46.72 billion, up 41.2% in dollars from a year earlier and above its own US$44.6 billion to 45.8 billion guidance. Net income rose 68.7% to NT$763.06 billion, and gross margin was 66.4%. Advanced nodes of 7nm and below made up 79% of wafer revenue, with 2nm at 8% in its early quarters, 3nm at 33% and 5nm at 28%. Fourth-quarter revenue is guided to US$52.3 billion to 54.3 billion with a 65% to 67% gross margin. TokenPost reportedly said TSMC raised its 2026 dollar growth outlook to about 44% and held capital spending at US$60 billion to 64 billion. The report came as AI and chip stocks sold off this week on financing worries. For AI companies, TSMC is the clearest read on accelerator supply. Nvidia, AMD and Broadcom all depend on its capacity, and a strong guide suggests chip availability, not demand, remains the constraint through year end. It also signals 2nm capacity is starting to arrive for 2027 products.
