TSMC September revenue climbs 54.6% year over year to NT$511.86 billion
TSMC's monthly filing, released October 8, shows September revenue down 0.6% from August but up sharply from a year earlier. Revenue for the first nine months of 2026 grew 41.1% year over year. These are revenue figures only, so margins and profit will not be known until the full quarterly results. The numbers landed on the same day chip stocks sold off after a report that OpenAI's revenue was below earlier estimates. They show that orders for leading edge wafers and advanced packaging from Nvidia, AMD, Apple and custom chip designers were still rising through the third quarter. For builders, TSMC's monthly sales are one of the clearest public signals of how much accelerator supply is coming. Continued growth suggests compute capacity keeps expanding, even as investors debate whether AI revenue can justify the spending behind it.
