Zwift
Zwift sells a subscription app for virtual indoor cycling and running, plus its own smart trainers and bikes, to home-fitness cyclists, runners and esports racers.
Zwift was founded in 2014 by Eric Min (CEO), Jon Mayfield, Alarik Myrin and Scott Barger. It runs a gamified 3D online world where riders and runners connect a smart trainer or treadmill to the app, which moves their avatar so they can train, socialize and race together. The company earns money from monthly subscriptions and has moved into its own hardware, such as Zwift Ride. In September 2020 it raised a $450M Series C led by KKR, valuing it at over $1B (total funding is about $600M+), and in April 2026 it acquired rival Rouvy, which keeps operating as a separate product.
