Known has no profiles, swiping or in-app messaging. Instead, each user does a voice interview with an AI matchmaker that averages about 26 minutes. The company's own matching model then pairs users one at a time and books the date, including time and place. The app is free to join and charges $15 per confirmed date rather than a subscription. Stanford dropouts Celeste Amadon and Asher Allen started it while building an AI tool for booking restaurant dates. About 7,000 people joined a 2025 beta. In December 2025 Known raised $9.7M from Forerunner, NFX, Pear VC and Coelius Capital, and it launched publicly in San Francisco in February 2026.
