Zen Educate
Zen Educate runs an online marketplace that matches schools with supply, long-term and permanent teaching staff based on proximity, skills and experience. It makes money by charging schools a markup of about 15–18% on each booked hour or day, which undercuts traditional agencies' 30–35% margins. It also sells SaaS tools for credentialing, compliance and absence management. Launched in London in 2017, it raised a £19.3M Series A extension in 2022 to expand into the US (starting with Houston) and a $37M Series B led by Round2 Capital in May 2024, followed by a reported ~$30.8M Series B2 in January 2026 (about $106M total per PitchBook). It also bought Aquinas Education in 2024 and AK Teaching in January 2026, and Tracxn put its 2024 revenue at £50–100M.
