Zenefits
Zenefits was founded in 2013 and built an all-in-one HR platform for small and midsize businesses that covered onboarding, benefits administration, payroll, PTO and time tracking, and compliance. It sold this as a per-employee-per-month subscription. The company raised about $583M in venture funding from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, TPG and Fidelity, and was once valued as high as $4.5B. TriNet (NYSE: TNET) bought it in February 2022 and renamed it TriNet Zenefits, then the TriNet HR Platform. By 2026 the standalone Zenefits product had been discontinued and folded into TriNet's HR Plus (ASO) service.
