About Adam Goldenberg
Adam Goldenberg is a Los Angeles-based entrepreneur. He founded his first company, Gamer's Alliance, while in high school and sold it to Intermix Media. Intermix later named him COO at age 19. At Intermix he and Don Ressler started Alena Media, an e-commerce business that became the template for their later companies.
After Intermix was sold to News Corp, Goldenberg and Ressler launched Intelligent Beauty in 2006, a beauty brand incubator. It sold Dermstore.com and its beauty brands to Target in 2013. In 2010 the pair founded TechStyle Fashion Group, based in El Segundo, California. TechStyle's brands include JustFab, FabKids, ShoeDazzle, Savage X Fenty and Fabletics. Goldenberg is co-founder and chief executive, and he serves as CEO of Fabletics.
He also teaches graduate-level leadership courses at UCLA and advises companies and leaders.
Goldenberg invests as an individual and often alongside Don Ressler. On a podcast he said he and Ressler "do a lot of angel investing." PitchBook lists five investments dated between 2014 and 2023. Crunchbase lists three personal investments. The databases do not agree, so treat any count as approximate. No deal sizes for his own checks are published in the sources found.
Goldenberg has said publicly that data and AI will keep changing e-commerce. He has also said that one-to-one personalization, driven by data and AI, is the future of online retail. His clearest AI-related angel investment is Quicklly, a South Asian grocery and food delivery marketplace that uses proprietary AI and machine learning to show vendors what consumers want. He is listed as an investor in its 2021 and 2022 rounds. He is not publicly known for a dedicated AI investing thesis beyond this.
Public databases describe him as an angel or individual investor focused on seed rounds, based in Los Angeles. The markets listed are e-commerce, retail, marketplaces, delivery, and food and beverage. His recorded deals also include automotive and business software. No check size, ownership target or stated pitch criteria are public.
