Scott Belsky
About Scott Belsky
Scott Belsky co-founded Behance in 2006, a platform for creative professionals, and was its CEO until Adobe acquired it in December 2012. His own site describes a career that started with entrepreneurship (Behance, 99U), moved to executive work at Adobe, and included a short stint as a traditional VC at Benchmark. He began his career at Goldman Sachs.
At Adobe he first led mobile strategy for Creative Cloud and Behance. He left for Benchmark as a venture partner in 2016, then returned to Adobe as Chief Product Officer and EVP of Creative Cloud in December 2017. In March 2023 he took on company-wide strategy, corporate development, design and emerging products as Chief Strategy Officer. Cornell Tech notes that his tenure covered Adobe's AI-driven product work and the launch of Adobe Express.
In early 2025 he became a partner at A24, where he oversees technology and innovation and founded A24 Labs. He sits on the boards of Atlassian, the Museum of Modern Art and Cornell's entrepreneurship program, and he joined the Cornell Tech Council. USV has also named him its first Product Advisory Partner. He wrote the books Making Ideas Happen and The Messy Middle, and publishes the Implications newsletter.
Belsky says he has been an early-stage angel investor since 2010. His early investments include Uber and Pinterest. Other companies he has been reported to back include Airtable, Carta, Warby Parker, Ramp, Notion, KoBold and Bubble.
Data providers count his activity differently. Crunchbase's public page lists 290 investments, PitchBook lists 290 investments and 146 portfolio companies, and Dealroom lists 203. Treat these as approximate, since angel records are often incomplete.
USV says he has long angel invested alongside its funds. He is an investor at CapitalB, which Crunchbase shows as a role since 2014.
Crunchbase data supplied to Lounge shows 48 AI investments since 2023. The AI portfolio there includes EvenUp, Grit, Meticulous, Suno, Mem0, Born, Particle.News, Extropic AI, Gravity, Weco AI, Owner and Reasoner.
Some of these rounds are documented. Crunchbase lists him as an investor in Suno's Series A, led by Matrix, with a February 2023 date on his activity timeline. It also lists him in EvenUp's Series B, and Meticulous and Gravity appear as Series A rounds on his Crunchbase page.
Mem0, a memory layer for AI apps, is the clearest case of early backing. Its investor page quotes him saying he backed the team before Y Combinator and chose to invest again. TechCrunch listed him among the angels in Mem0's 2025 round, which was a $20 million Series A led by Basis Set Ventures. His own site also lists AI and developer infrastructure names such as Modal, Baseten, Replit, Roboflow, Supabase, Etched, Not Diamond and Profound.
On his own site, Belsky describes his focus as consumer, marketplace and "transformation by interface" companies. He notes that this covers many enterprise and B2B companies. He calls himself a product design and consumer-behavior obsessive.
His site lists enterprise, developer and consumer tech names. Third-party profiles say he invests from pre-seed to Series A. They give check sizes of $50K to $100K (Mercury) and $50K to $500K with a $100K sweet spot (NFX Signal). Another aggregator says up to $1M. These are third-party figures, not a statement from Belsky, and he has not published a check size himself.
On the Behance and Adobe side, he has said on a podcast that builders should stay model-agnostic when working with AI models. Crunchbase shows 0 lead investments for him, which fits his role as an angel who joins rounds. He is based in New York and his portfolio is not limited to one region.
