About Jeff Horing

Background

Jeff Horing co-founded Insight Partners in 1995 and has been a managing director there since. Insight is a New York-based venture capital and private equity firm that invests in software and internet businesses. Before Insight he worked at Warburg Pincus and Goldman Sachs. He holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from MIT Sloan.

Insight's own bio says he has invested in more than 150 companies. These include nCino, JFrog, Alteryx, AirWatch, Shutterstock, TeamViewer, Wix and Greenfield Online. Other profiles list monday.com and Wiz among his investments.

Angel investing track record

Most of Horing's public record is through Insight Partners, not personal angel checks. Crunchbase lists two personal investments: a Series A in Atarraya Inc, where it marks him as lead investor, and a Series B in Airis Labs. Dates and amounts are not shown publicly.

In 2026 he joined the $5.1M pre-seed of Elio Mortgage as an angel investor. Motive Partners and Social Leverage led that round.

AI investments

Elio Mortgage is an AI-first mortgage brokerage. It came out of stealth with the $5.1M pre-seed. Horing is named as an angel in that round.

NFX Signal's profile of him lists Generative Tech/AI at Seed, Series A and Series B. It also shows Darwin AI (Series A, October 2025, $15M) and Wonderful (Series A in November 2025, Series B in March 2026, Series C in September 2026). These come from a third-party profile built on his Insight work.

Speaking in Israel, he said Insight had made 15 AI-related investments in Israeli companies. He also said Israel did not yet have a standout company in AI models or AI tools.

Investment focus

Through Insight, Horing backs software and internet companies. Third-party profiles list cloud infrastructure, SaaS, enterprise infrastructure, data services, analytics and generative AI. Stages run from seed to Series B, and often later. He said Insight's main activity in Israel is now seed and Series A, and that 87% of its Israeli investments were early-stage. He has not published a personal angel check size, so none is given here.
