About Josh Browder
Josh Browder is the founder and CEO of DoNotPay, which describes itself as the world's first robot lawyer. He has run the company since 2015. It automates consumer rights processes such as canceling subscriptions, lowering bills and getting refunds. He grew up in London and moved to Palo Alto at 18. He studied computer science at Stanford but did not finish, and took a Thiel Fellowship instead.
He is also the solo general partner of Browder Capital. His X bio describes him as a Thiel Fellow and solo GP. A third-party profile lists an earlier stint as an entrepreneur-in-residence intern at Greylock Partners. Activant Capital announced him as an advisor.
Browder started investing personally and later formalized it as Browder Capital. In May 2025 he announced Browder Capital Fund Four, a $30 million fund. His post said it was backed by Sequoia Capital, Marc Andreessen and other institutions. A 2023-era conference bio describes him as an angel investor focused on first-time entrepreneurs, including college and high school dropouts.
Public counts of his investments differ by source. Crunchbase and PitchBook each list 38 investments, and NFX Signal lists 39. PitchBook shows 9 exits. Older speaker bios cite more than 150 companies. The Twenty Minute VC describes him as the first check into micro1, Owner.com and Yuzu Health.
On May 28, 2026, Ponder AI announced a $2.5M pre-seed round. Ponder AI is a New York company building an agentic video editor for professional filmmakers. Liu Jiang of Sunflower led the round, and Browder and Matt Hartman participated.
Other AI-related investments on public databases include PromptLayer (seed, February 2025), micro1 (seed, October 2023) and Orchard Robotics (seed, March 2024). Tracxn also lists SellScale (seed, November 2022). On X he has called himself a pre-pre-seed investor in Greptile.
Browder invests mainly at pre-seed and seed. NFX Signal lists a range of $100K to $10M with a $1M sweet spot, and also tags Series A deals. These figures come from an investor database, not a statement from Browder. Its tagged sectors are SaaS, SMB software, marketing tech, consumer internet and AI. VC Sheet reports that Browder Capital targets under-25 founders with a personal connection to the problem they are solving. He is based in the San Francisco Bay Area, and databases show portfolio companies in the US and UK.
