About Matt Bilbey

Background

Matt Bilbey spent more than 20 years at Electronic Arts. He started in London in sales and moved up to product manager for the FIFA franchise. In 2001 he moved to Vancouver, where he later became senior vice-president of EA Studios. He told Business in Vancouver that he took over as general manager of the FIFA business when it was about a $600 million business, and that the team reached $1 billion in sales in two years.

His later EA roles included Chief Operating Officer of Worldwide Studios and Executive Vice President of Strategic Growth. The strategic growth remit covered partner development, EA's self-publishing and subscription platform, Asia growth, esports and M&A. He also ran development studios in North America and Europe, and EA's mobile and free-to-play business in Asia.

He is now a Venture Partner at London Venture Partners (LVP), which his profile describes as focused on early-stage gaming and digital media. He also runs his own angel fund. He is listed as an advisor to Nilo Technologies.
