About Merav Bahat

Background

Merav Bahat co-founded the cloud security company Dazz in 2021 and served as its CEO. Calcalist reports that Dazz was founded with Tomer Schwartz and Yuval Ofir. It built an automation and AI-based platform for finding, prioritizing and fixing security vulnerabilities in enterprise cloud environments.

Wiz acquired Dazz in November 2024. Calcalist estimated the price at $450 million in one report and at about half a billion dollars in another. Bahat joined Wiz after the deal. Calcalist later reported that she was leaving Wiz shortly after the Google-Wiz merger closed and was believed to be planning a new cyber and AI venture.

Crunchbase lists Harvard Business School in her education. A profile on me.sh says she studied at the Technion after her military service. She is based in Israel.

Angel investing track record

Crunchbase lists three personal investments for Bahat: Engram, Neo Security and, per Calcalist, Aim Security. Calcalist's Neo coverage names her as one of the angel investors in the company, alongside Wiz CEO Assaf Rappaport. Calcalist's report on her exit from Wiz also says she had backed several startups over recent years, including Aim Security, an AI-based attack protection company that announced a $37 million round.

AI investments

Bahat was revealed as an investor in Engram in June 2026. Calcalist describes Engram as a US startup co-founded and led by Israeli researcher Dr. Dan Biderman, which raised a $98 million round at a $600 million valuation. Crunchbase classifies the round as a seed round. Other investors listed there include Sequoia Capital, Kleiner Perkins and SV Angel.

Calcalist also reported in June 2026 that Bahat is leading a new founder-led fund, with Rappaport and with participation from Sequoia, Greylock and Andreessen Horowitz. The fund was described as being in formation, with an expected size of $25-30 million. This comes from press reporting and not from a statement by Bahat.

Investment focus

Calcalist says the planned fund will make early-stage investments in AI infrastructure and AI-driven cybersecurity. It will target computing infrastructure, scaling technologies and AI-based security tools, and will operate in Israel and the United States. Her known angel investments are at seed and Series A. Bahat has not publicly stated a personal check size, so none is given here.
