The Footprint Firm is a Copenhagen-based sustainability advisory and investment company. It is a firm, not an individual angel. Anna Søndergaard, Christian Sparrevohn and Jakob Wichmann founded it in 2019.
The firm advises corporates and private equity firms on sustainability, and it invests in startups. It says it has invested its profits in sustainable startups and works closely with them. It has an in-house team of about 45 specialists who support portfolio companies on regulation, scientific validation, commercialisation and scaling.

By the first close of Fund I, it had made over 20 investments in about four and a half years. The first close was DKK 375M, roughly €50M. The final close was €76M. Backers include North-East Family Office, EIFO, Realdania, Novo Holdings, Nordea-fonden and Velliv Foreningen.
In January 2026 The Footprint Firm led a €1.2M pre-seed round in TetraxAI. Norrsken Evolve and Carbon13 also took part. TetraxAI is a Barcelona-based B2B SaaS company that uses AI for due diligence and risk management on clean energy infrastructure. The round, together with Spanish NEOTEC grant funding, brings its total funding to €1.5M.
Jakob Wichmann, co-founder and partner, said the firm wants to support climate-tech innovation of this kind. The firm also offered TetraxAI its network of energy developers, infrastructure investors and industrial partners.
Footprint Fund I is an Article 9 fund for early-stage green deeptech in Northern Europe. The firm describes itself as a hands-on pre-seed and seed investor.
