Valon Mortgage
About Valon Mortgage
Valon Mortgage is a company, not an individual investor. It is the mortgage division of Valon Technologies, a New York fintech founded in 2019 by Andrew Wang and Jon Hsu. Valon built a cloud-based mortgage servicing platform, ValonOS, and first ran it on its own servicing book.
Press reports say Carrington Mortgage Services acquired Valon Mortgage, while Valon Technologies kept the ValonOS software business. Valon Technologies describes itself as an AI-native operating system for regulated finance. In its Series D announcement it said it raised $150M at a $2.3B valuation, with Ribbit Capital joining as a new investor and Andreessen Horowitz continuing to back it.
Valon Mortgage does not publish an angel program, a fund size or a list of angel checks. The only investment found in PitchBook, Crunchbase and CB Insights is its participation in the Copperlane seed round. Pitch it as a strategic investor from the mortgage industry. It is not a general-purpose angel.
Copperlane is the one AI investment on record. In June 2026 the company announced a $4.1M seed round led by TQ Ventures. Y Combinator, US News Digital Ventures and Mercor joined, along with Valon Mortgage. Other coverage also lists Eight Capital and several angel investors.
Copperlane was founded in 2025 by Athan Zhang and Brianna Lin and is part of Y Combinator's W26 batch. It builds Penny, an AI loan officer assistant that reviews borrower documents, flags issues and drafts letters of explanation for human compliance staff. Valon's own investment amount is not disclosed.
With a single disclosed deal, any stated focus would be a guess. That deal was a seed-stage AI company selling to mortgage lenders. Valon's own business is mortgage servicing and lending technology, so mortgage and housing-finance software is the likely area of interest. Valon has made no public statement about check size, stage or geography.
