Aonic Club is using AI to make life cheaper

Thursday, October 15, 2026 · 6 min read

Welcome back, Superhuman. Our US readers are living through history. Inflation hit 3.7% in September, marking one of the longest stretches of high prices in the past century. But help may be on the way. An AI startup introduced a bold plan to sell goods even cheaper than Walmart, Amazon, or Costco.

Today: Two Godfathers of AI weigh in, how to turn any topic into an animated explainer with Grok Bot, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.

1. Roughly 400 scientists across 34 countries sign a letter calling for AI oversight: A new open letter argues that voluntary commitments — like the safety accord several US tech giants agreed to just weeks ago — aren’t enough. The group has proposed an alternate plan: isolating frontier models from external networks and placing them under independent oversight. The list notably includes Geoffrey Hinton and Yoshua Bengio, two researchers known as “Godfathers of AI” for their work on neural networks.

2. Aonic Club unveils a subscription service to help lower the cost of goods: For a $99 annual membership, Aonic Club customers can buy the startup’s own branded products at the cost of manufacturing and shipping, which the startup claims is typically 20% to 80% cheaper than name-brand alternatives. One catch: it only offers protein and supplements right now, but plans to expand into more categories. Watch how it works.

3. Ramp rolls out its internal AI workspace to the public: Glass is a multiplayer AI system that works across teams and remembers how your company operates over time. Ramp co-founder Eric Glyman says the company built Glass after spending $1.5M on frontier models in a single week, and that 323 employees have contributed 6,500 edits to what its internal Glass workspace knows. The tool is now publicly available through an early access program.

AI agents browse products, interact with accounts, and move through digital experiences. Without visibility, you can’t measure impact, capture value, or manage risk.

94% of CMOs and 98% of CISOs say AI agents are present, yet only 16% of CMOs and 4% of CISOs can quantify their activity.

The HUMAN IRIS Report shows you how to:

  • Identify agent traffic in your analytics and funnels

  • Build trustworthy attribution

  • Welcome valuable agents while stopping malicious automation

TUTORIAL

How to turn any topic into an animated explainer video with Grok Bot

Click here to check out an animated explainer video that a user created using Grok Bot. Photo:

  • Open Grok Bot, choose New > Create new Bot. Name it something like ‘Explainer Video Bot’.

  • Attach any source material you want it to use, such as PDFs, links, images, PowerPoints, or reference videos.

Sample Prompt:“Create a 60–90 second animated explainer about [topic] for [audience]. Research the topic carefully, identify the 4–6 ideas someone must understand, and turn them into a clear beginning-to-end story. Write concise narration, then create matching visuals and animations for each scene using simple diagrams, labels, charts, maps, or illustrative sequences where useful. Keep the tone [clear / playful / professional], and make the final video understandable without any prior knowledge.”

  • Let Grok Bot generate the visuals and assemble the narration using its video tools.

  • Review the first version and ask the Bot to shorten dense sections, clarify confusing visuals, or add citations for factual claims before generating the final cut.

  • Save the finished instructions, sources, and workflow inside the Bot’s setup so you can reopen the same Bot later and run it on a new topic.

FROM THE FRONTIER

AI is redefining education quickly. Some are starting to go against the traditional path.

Made with Midjourney

Today’s parents are facing a dilemma (or several, really). Should elementary-age kids still spend all day in a classroom when AI has unlocked cheap, 24/7 personal tutoring? What about college? Are four-year degrees still worth the cost when they could be obsolete by graduation?

There’s no right answer yet. Even if there were, overhauling the education system would take years. But some parents are starting to experiment.

Swapping chalkboards for ChatGPT

OpenAI Advisor Fidji Simo sends her daughter to Alpha School, which uses 1:1 AI tutoring to teach kids core subjects in just two hours a day. Per the school’s data, this strategy is highly effective and puts it in the top 0.1% globally. The downside is the cost: anywhere from $10K to $75K per year. Others have found success even without expensive private programs:

  1. Former Verizon VP Wes Pomeroy built his sons a custom AI setup that turns class materials into study guides that work best for them (here’s how to build your own).

  2. Venture capitalist Deedy Das says he met a 14-year-old speedrunning their career with self-taught AI tutoring.

  3. Cartesia engineer Noah Tye built a system where GPT-6 Astra monitors his handwritten notes and offers advice, pairing the benefits of writing by hand with AI.

While most families still rely on the traditional classroom — which offers plenty of benefits a chatbot can’t replicate — expect AI-centric education to continue growing in popularity.

AuthKit gives your app enterprise-grade authentication without months of engineering work. Plus, user management is free for up to 1M monthly active users.
