Meta drops two new models, topping Fable & Astra

Tuesday, October 13, 2026 · 6 min read

Welcome back, Superhuman. Sometimes patience pays off. This time last year, Meta was overhauling its AI division for the fourth time in just six months. Now its personal agent Muse is #1 on Apple’s App Store, and two new models just put Meta back near the top of the frontier charts.

Today: SaaSpocalypse 2.0 is here, how to find the best deal before you buy with Grok Bot, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.

TODAY IN AI

Learn about Meta’s two new frontier models, Muse Wonder and Wonder Full. Source: Meta.

1. Meta unveils its two most capable frontier models yet: Muse Wonder and Muse Wonder Full deliver top-tier performance, with the latter outranking Claude Fable 5.1 and GPT-6 Astra on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index. Their standout strength is long-term memory, making them especially valuable for the company’s personal agent Muse, which Wonder will power soon. Both are available now through Muse Code. 2. Microsoft reveals Maia 300, its 3rd-generation AI chip: The tech giant plans to make the Maia family its primary inference system for internal products, helping to reduce reliance on Nvidia. Microsoft expects these chips to produce 40% more tokens per unit of electricity than top GPU-based systems, with CEO Satya Nadella calling the move the company’s “biggest bet yet” on its own silicon. 3. Ukrainian drones target Russian data centers: The facilities belong to Yandex, the tech conglomerate often called Russia’s Google. Yandex says no employees were hurt, though some of its services are down. The strike adds to a growing pattern of data centers becoming wartime targets. Russia has hit Ukrainian data centers, and Iran went after Amazon’s facilities in Bahrain and the UAE earlier this year.

TUTORIAL

How to find the best deal before you buy with Grok Bot

Photo: SpaceXAI

  • Open Grok Bot and create a new Bot for shopping or purchase research.

  • Make sure the Bot can access the websites it may need, and sign in yourself if a retailer requires a human login or handoff.

  • Give the Bot one detailed shopping prompt with the product, specs, budget, delivery deadline, seller requirements, and approval boundary.

Sample Prompt:“Find the best current deal on [product] with these must-haves: [model/specs/size/color]. My maximum budget is [amount], target price is [amount], and I need delivery to [location] by [date]. Compare reputable retailers, local stores, bundles, open-box options, shipping costs, warranty, return policy, and delivery time. Email stores if stock or pricing is unclear. Rank the three best options and explain the trade-offs. Do not place an order until you show me the final total and ask for approval.”

  • Ask Grok Bot to email stores directly if stock, pricing, or delivery details are unclear.

  • Review the shortlist and ask it to verify the final price for your preferred option.

  • If you want to buy, approve the purchase card when Grok Bot presents the amount.

  • Keep purchases behind approval rather than giving the Bot unrestricted buying authority, especially for higher-value items.

FROM THE FRONTIER

The SaaSpocalypse is finally here — but not in the way everyone expected

SaaSpocalypse 2.0. Earlier this year, a wave of powerful new AI models sent software stocks into free fall, wiping out a combined $1T in market value. The fear was that companies would build their own software and abandon enterprise tools. Wall Street called it the “SaaSpocalypse.” While that scenario hasn’t quite played out, a different revolution is starting to take shape.

Hobbyists are spite-coding: Rebuilding apps they’re sick of paying for or done dealing with

Brandon Thomas kicked it off with ArtCraft. The developer built cheaper, open-source alternatives to Adobe’s design tools that address two major complaints: they have no subscription fees and work across most platforms. He recently doubled down with Microsoft Office. And he’s not alone:

  • One Redditor’s TV took 30 seconds just to boot up, so he built a custom Plex app that’s much faster.

  • Ilter Canberk kept losing the remote to his air conditioner, so he built an app that controls it from his computer.

The bottom line. Enterprise’s SaaSpocalypse is likely held up by the usual suspects: compliance, legal, and security teams. But the consumer SaaSpocalypse? It’s full steam ahead.
