New AI startup aims to build "previously unbuildable" products
Welcome back, Superhuman. After six years in stealth, Jeff Holden — Amazon’s 10th engineer — has unveiled Atomic Machines, a startup he thinks can usher in an era of “vibe manufacturing.” Plus, a third of the Fortune 500 is already using TypeSafe AI’s buzzy new model just one month after it launched.
Today: Satya Nadella’s essay hits 10M views, how to turn a boring presentation into an animated explainer with Claude, and get the latest prompts and trending social posts.
TODAY IN AI
1. Atomic Machines wants to bring “vibe manufacturing” to the world: The Matter Compiler is an AI-native general-purpose manufacturing system that turns code into working micro-machines, with no new tooling required. The pitch: just like AI coding tools let anyone vibe code software, the Matter Compiler could let people vibe manufacture physical products. The startup has raised $250M and is run by Jeff Holden, who helped build Amazon Prime and Uber’s self-driving division. Watch how it works.
2. The startup behind Jev hits a $7.5B valuation as decision models grow in popularity: TypeSafe AI, co-founded by ChatGPT co-creator Diogo Almeida, announced $870M in funding roughly one month after launching Jev, a model built for AI agents rather than human conversation. Jev makes “calibrated decisions” much faster and cheaper than traditional LLMs by eliminating text-based conversations. Competitors are already closing in, with Microsoft releasing its own fast decision model last week. Watch the founder’s update.
3. Microsoft’s CEO says businesses should assume AI is compromised: In a new personal blog post, Satya Nadella argues businesses should install mandatory safety guardrails to mitigate AI’s risks. He suggests never letting a model verify its own work, setting up built-in “emergency brakes” that can pause AI models mid-task, and continuously stress-testing systems. His full article outlines seven total strategies.

How to turn a boring company presentation into an animated explainer with Claude
Sample Prompt:“Turn this presentation into a 60–90 second animated explainer for [audience]. Keep only the most important ideas, simplify jargon, and build a clear narrative from problem to takeaway. Use concise on-screen text, visual metaphors, animated charts, and smooth transitions. Keep the style [professional / playful / premium / minimal] and make every scene easy to understand without the original deck.”
Let Claude build the animation using text, charts, shapes, and images from your presentation.
Review the animation and ask Claude to shorten dense scenes, simplify visuals, or emphasize any numbers and conclusions that matter most.
Click ‘Export’ and choose ‘MP4’ when the explainer is ready.
FROM THE FRONTIER
Mark Zuckerberg and the US government are teaming up to build a “virtual cell”

Made with Midjourney
🧬 Operation virtual cell. Biohub, a nonprofit backed by Mark Zuckerberg, is on a mission to build what it calls a “universal virtual cell.” It has now raised a collective $1.8B to make that happen, joining forces with the US Department of Energy, the National Institutes of Health, DeepMind, and Isomorphic Labs.
🤔 What’s a virtual cell? It’s an AI model that understands human biology and simulates how human cells behave. In theory, it could predict how cells respond to a treatment, letting researchers test thousands of hypotheses digitally without needing to set foot in a lab.
AI startups are pushing deeper into biology, medicine, and science
Isomorphic Labs is eyeing a $40B valuation: The Google DeepMind spinout led by Demis Hassabis is reportedly raising fresh funding for its AI-powered drug discovery.
Midjourney is building a medical scanner: The lab primarily known for AI image creation is working on a new type of full-body ultrasound scanner.
Jeff Dean wants to automate the scientific method: Google’s chief scientist left after 27 years to co-found Discovery Loop, which plans to test experiments en masse using AI.
The list goes on, with startups like Chai Discovery, Lila Sciences, and Enveda all chasing similar goals. While none has successfully brought AI-generated medicine to market yet, that milestone may not be far off.
