About Slavik Markovich

Background

Slavik Markovich is co-founder and CEO of Descope, an authentication and user management platform for developers. He is based in Los Altos, California. He studied computer science at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology, and served five years in the Israel Defense Forces as a team leader.

He co-founded the database security company Sentrigo and was its CTO. McAfee acquired Sentrigo in 2011, and he became VP and CTO of database technologies at McAfee. He then co-founded Demisto, a security orchestration (SOAR) company, in early 2015 with Rishi Bhargava. Palo Alto Networks bought Demisto in March 2019 for a reported $560 million, and Markovich served there as SVP of Product.

Descope was founded by eight members of the Demisto core team. It has since expanded into identity controls for AI agents and MCP servers.

Angel investing track record

Descope's company biography describes him as an investor in dozens of startups and a board member and advisor to several security startups. Crunchbase lists 13 personal investments and CB Insights lists 10, and the two counts differ. Crunchbase dates his recorded rounds from late 2021 (Garnet Labs) through March 2026 (Raven.io and Huskeys).

Other rounds on Crunchbase's timeline include runZero (Series A, March 2022), Flow Security (August 2022), Axiom (December 2022), Sublime Security (February 2023), 8Flow (June 2023), Clarity (August 2023) and Vorlon (Series A, April 2024). In most of these he is one of several named investors rather than a lead.

AI investments

His most recent AI-related round on the Lounge deals desk is Huskeys, which came out of stealth in March 2026 with an $8M seed round. Huskeys is a Tel Aviv company that sells an edge security management platform. It places an agentic AI layer over CDN, WAF, infrastructure and application security. Markovich was named among the cybersecurity angels in the round, alongside 10D, SV Angel, toDay Ventures, CCL and Alumni Ventures.

He also took part in Raven.io's $20M seed round in March 2026. Norwest Venture Partners led that round, and Descope was also listed as a participant. Raven builds runtime application security and positions itself against AI-generated exploits.

Investment focus

His public record points to seed and Series A rounds in cybersecurity and enterprise software. The companies are mainly in the US and Israel. He has not published a check size or stated investment criteria that we found. Third-party databases give conflicting figures, so none are repeated here.
