Background

Stacy Brown-Philpot is from Detroit. She holds a BS in economics from the Wharton School and an MBA from Stanford. Early in her career she worked at PricewaterhouseCoopers and Goldman Sachs. She joined Google in 2003 and spent nearly a decade there leading global operations for products including Search, Chrome and Google+. She also ran online sales and operations for Google India. She then spent time as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Google Ventures.

She joined TaskRabbit as its first COO in 2013 and became CEO in 2016. TaskRabbit was acquired by IKEA's parent company, Ingka Group, in 2017. She stepped down as CEO in August 2020 and became a founding member of the SoftBank Opportunity Fund, which backed Black, Latinx and Native American founders.

It tracks how brands appear in answers from AI systems such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. Press coverage of the round described the amount as undisclosed. Investment focus

Cherryrock describes itself as an early-stage firm investing in software companies led by underinvested founders, including Black and Latine entrepreneurs. Its stated aim is to help startups scale from $1M to $100M+ with operational support. Bloomberg reported that the firm targets the period after angel and seed rounds. Cherryrock co-led a $26 million Series A for Flourish Health, so it is not limited to AI.

Her personal angel check size is not stated by her. NFX Signal, a third-party database, lists an investment range and sweet spot of $25K. Treat that figure as unconfirmed.
