Claude Dashboards & Motion: Ask Claude for live dashboards and animated explainers
Both betas went live on October 8, 2026. Dashboards covers Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise, but Motion leaves out Pro and Max users. Every chart exposes the SQL query behind it and shows when data was last refreshed. Motion does not use a video diffusion model, so its output contains no generated footage or synthetic people. Enterprise admins must switch both on in Organization settings > Artifacts. On the same day, Docs, Slides and Design left beta for all plans, with CMEK support for enterprise. Standalone Claude Design closes on 14 December. Anthropic says the work can move on to other tools afterward: Dashboards hand off to Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, PostHog, Sigma; Motion hands off to Adobe, Runway, Luma, Descript. For founders, text-to-SQL and lightweight BI now come bundled with a chat subscription, which squeezes startups that sell only a first-draft chart. Showing the query behind each number also raises what buyers expect from AI analytics. The products with room left to compete are the ones that offer governance, semantic layers or depth beyond the handoff point.
