About Linda Avey

Background

Linda Avey co-founded 23andMe in 2006 with Anne Wojcicki and Paul Cusenza, and served as co-president until 2009. Before that she spent about two decades in sales and business development in biopharma, including work on research programs at Affymetrix and Perlegen Sciences. Wikipedia and Crunchbase now list her as Linea Avey. She is based in Austin, Texas.

After leaving 23andMe in 2009, she started the Brainstorm Research Foundation, which focused on Alzheimer's disease research. In 2011 she co-founded Curious, Inc., a platform for gathering and exploring personal health data. From 2017 to 2023 she was co-founder and CEO of Precise.ly with Aneil Mallavarapu. The company announced seed investment from Rock Health and a partnership with Narayana Health in India in January 2020.

She is a member of the Board of Fellows at Stanford Medical School and joined the board of the Human Immunome Project in November 2023. She was also the founding independent board director of Rock Health. On X she lists advisory roles with Autism Impact Fund, Giant and Colossal Bio.

Angel investing track record

Public records of her personal investments are thin. Crunchbase lists two personal investments, TrustedRouter and The Portal. CB Insights records her as a seed participant in Experiment in June 2013, in a $1.2M round with many other investors. Dates and amounts for her own checks are not public.

AI investments

Avey took part in TrustedRouter's $1.25M seed round, which Axios reported on August 31, 2026. Other investors in the round were Sam Lessin of Slow Ventures, Bill Tai and George Xing. TrustedRouter is a Miami-based AI routing startup. It gives developers access to more than 600 models from over 81 providers through one API, and its code is open source. It uses confidential computing so the router cannot see customer prompts.

Investment focus

Crunchbase and the Human Immunome Project describe Humain Ventures as investing in life and health tech and the AI-powered bioeconomy. Avey is a general partner there. Her one disclosed AI angel deal was a seed-stage infrastructure company, so she is not limited to health. No check size, fund size or stage rules are public.
